I am a Masters graduate in International Relations and World Order from the University of Leicester in the UK . I lived in England for a total 7 years during which I shot pistol, rifle and shotgun.
I had the honour of representing my University in rifle shooting at regional, national and international levels. I won 2 silvers and a bronze medal for small-bore rifle shooting and won three university sports colours awards, similar in stature to the Oxford or Cambridge Blue. I was armourer and senior coach for the University Rifles from my second year till I left the UK in November 2000.
Shotgun shooting has been my primary discipline since my second year in the UK . I had the privilege of shooting for my county, Leicestershire in the event of English Sporting for two years 1998-1999 and 1999-2000. In the '98-'99 season Leicestershire won team gold at the national inter-counties shoot at Doveridge Shooting Ground. I was delighted to be part of the champion team. I have shot in the British Open, the Clubman Championships and other big European events, in all the events I have shot overseas; I was one of the few Chinese faces and definitely the only Singaporean.
. Through all these competitions I can safely say that I understand the trials of competitive shooters in the modern era. For my efforts in Competitive Clay shooting shooting I was awarded my Universities Sports Person of the Year Award for 2000, an award given to the person who has most contributed to a sport and sporting club in the academic year. Voted for by both my peers and university authorities, I was told that the decision was unanimous.
During my years at university, I also worked on a commercial shooting ground, in the roles of club coach, referee, course designer and marketing manager. At Kibworth Shooting Ground I was regarded as part of the furniture and fittings, getting numerous mentions for service excellence and enthusiasm in several different shooting magazines. I qualified as a sporting and trap referee, passing both my tests in the top 98-percentile allowing me to gain the award of senior referee. Though now lapsed I was a member of the Clay Pigeon Shooting Association from 1994 and my CPSA number is 94035 and my scores can still be seen on the web classification page at www.cpsa.co.uk . I helped set up numerous corporate events, for companies like Daimler-Chrysler and Landrover. I recently shot in a friendly match against the William's F1 clay shooting team. I also gave private lessons both for high tower(game) and Sporting.
In my time with Kibworth Shooting Ground I also got interested in firearms and sales, As such I have strong personal relationships with shooting consultants and gun dealers in the UK . I have the pleasure of being on first name basis with Carl Bloxham, Mickey Rouse, Richard Faulds, Ben Husthwaite and many other famous shooting personalities. I also have many contacts in the field of coaching in the UK , having cultivated many friends among the National Shooting Centre staff in Bisley , UK . I have strong technical experience in gun fit, choke applications and ammunition. I am also well versed in hunting both with a rifle and shotgun. Reference letters can be requested if required from my previous employers.
